Lauren's costume started as a mortal princess. However, she requested an "upgrade" (in the form of wings) after the dual influences of her friend Megan and a recent visit from the Pacifier Fairy shaped her desires.
Anna was content to just lounge in her sleeper suit, but mom made her dress up like some kind of cat trapped in a pumpkin.
As you can see, Lauren and Megan made a very adorable fairy princess duo while trick-or-treating. They ran all over the neighborhood (with supervision, of course) and were tailed the entire time by a wayward chicken (Megan's little brother - Cole). This is the third year that this inseparable tandem has trick-or-treated together. At three (going on four), their attention span was much longer than ever before. Plus we had to visit twice as many houses because only about 50% of houses were dog-free. Lauren wouldn't go to the door until she was certain there weren't any dogs inside. Fortunately, Megan was there to serve as the scout. Megan would ring the door bell. If no barking ensued, Lauren would run up to the door. If there was barking, Lauren would insist on being picked up by dad and would ask Megan to get candy for her.
The night ended with Lauren in bed by 8:15 and dad in bed by 8:30. It had been a long week in the Landis house.
